This is perfect for my mini dachshund with IVDD. She has very weak back legs and not a whole lot of sensation. However she can walk and wants up on that couch at any cost.
This ramp is far too steep for her at its highest setting. We use the middle setting and it works well for her. Occasionally she will misstep but the grippy surface keeps her from falling.
Now it it take some time for her to get used to it, but since she can't tell where her back feet are I don't blame her.
A week later and she's a pro.
I highly recommend this ramp, especially since some fixed height ramps could be too steep and some other brands of adjustable ramps are twice the cost.
This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not step for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)
Very nice ramp. Sturdy and well built. 3 different height adjustments and no assembly.
I have a 13 year old Dachshund who likes to climb up on furniture. I had a 3 step foam thing which he will use to climb up but not down. As soon as I put the ramp next to him, he walked right down it - not afraid because it was not a steep decline. Plus the surface is not slick so he can go up and down with ease.
Perfect for our dachshunds. Our girl has suffered from IVDD and no jumping on or off the couch for her. She learned quickly.
We like the way this was designed. It is sturdily built and the adjustable feature is a plus. My Dachshund has no problem using it and we feel much at ease allowing them to walk up and down furniture on their own. Great replacement for bulky stairs which sometimes is also not the best option for dogs with longer bodies. Great product!
I am fostering a senior dog with arthritis. She couldn't get up to the sofa. Doggie stairs are not stable for her. This ramp is PERFECT!! The height can be adjusted. Very happy for this purchase!!
